10 Frequently Asked Questions (“FAQs”) regarding the California Public Employees’ Pension “Reform” Act of 2013 (“PEPRA,” AB 340)
We have created a FAQs document to answer some of the most common questions we have received regarding PEPRA. Many of the FAQs and answers relate to time-sensitive issues that Unions may want to think about well in advance of January 1, 2013. For example, employers have already begun to insist that Unions “reopen” the labor contract, or “meet and confer” over the implementation of PEPRA. Also, some Unions are in bargaining now, or will be soon, and would like to know how PEPRA affects those negotiations and the labor contract.
