Michaela Posner joined Weinberg, Roger & Rosenfeld as an associate attorney in 2021 after clerking for the firm during law school. Ms. Posner maintains an active labor arbitration and labor and employment litigation practice. She also regularly represents union clients involved in National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) and California Public Employment Relations Board unfair labor practice proceedings and provides counsel on a variety of labor and employment law topics.

While attending the University of California, Irvine School of Law, Ms. Posner participated in the Appellate Litigation Clinic, where she argued the case of Route v. Garland, 996 F.3d 968 (9th Cir. 2021), challenging the deportation of a Micronesian citizen who lost credit for a decade of lawful residence in the U.S. Ms. Posner also co-founded the school’s Labor and Employment Law Society and clerked for an Equal Employment Opportunity Commission administrative law judge. During law school, she devoted herself to representing public-sector unions and low-income workers pro bono, accumulating more than 300 hours of service by the time she graduated and winning more than $7,000 for an individual worker in a state Labor Commissioner hearing. She graduated cum laude in 2021.

Ms. Posner proudly hails from a strong union family, with relatives in the AFT, SAG-AFTRA, UFCW, and the Ironworkers. Her commitment to the labor movement remained firm during her undergraduate years, during which she interned for the NLRB and the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office.

Ms. Posner is active in the American Bar Association (ABA). She served on the Board of Governors and in the House of Delegates as the Law Student At-Large to the ABA Board of Governors in 2019-2020. She is currently the California Lawyers Association Young Lawyer Delegate to the ABA House of Delegates. Ms. Posner is also active in the ABA’s Section of Labor and Employment Law and served one term on the Section Council as the Law Student Liaison. She is currently a co-chair of the Section’s New and Young Lawyers Affinity Group, the Section’s Outreach to New and Young Lawyers Committee, and the Sections’ Membership Development and Engagement Committee. Ms. Posner is also a member of the Developing Labor Law Committee. and has spoken at the Committee’s conferences. In November 2022, Ms. Posner was the recipient of the Section of Labor and Employment Law New/Young Lawyer Award.
