Weinberg Roger & Rosenfeld – Emeryville (Two Positions)

WRR seeks attorneys to join the firm’s practice representing the employee benefit plans of Unions in various industries including construction, service, healthcare and hospitality.  We believe that it is crucial to ensure that Union members and their families enjoy quality health care and a dignified retirement.  We seek likeminded candidates.  

Open positions:

1.      Benefits Law Associate Attorney (Zero to Three Years Experience; CA License Required)
2.      Benefits Law Associate Attorney (At Least 4 Years Experience)

Job duties for both positions include:

·         Providing general and legal advice to the firm’s diverse union and employee benefit plan clients;
·         Attending client meetings;
·         Representing workers at grievance arbitration hearings;
·         Handling ERISA related litigation, including enforcement of contribution obligations, subrogation, benefit denial and withdrawal liability cases; and
·         Defending the firm’s employee benefit plan clients and union clients in administrative hearings and in state and federal court. 

Dedication to the labor movement, strong writing and oral advocacy skills, attention to detail, organization and time management are very important, and real estate experience is a plus.  The candidate should be a motivated self-starter with superb judgment and communication skills, and must have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Candidates must be licensed and in good standing in California.

WRR associates are paid on a pay step scale based on years of experience performing relevant work. The scale starts at $86,650.00 and ends at $122,000.00, with benefits, including participation in a defined benefit pension plan, annual employer 401(k) contribution equal to 5% of salary, and 100% employer paid premiums for health, dental and vision insurance for the employee and all eligible dependents. WRR offers associates an option to participate in a tax-free student loan assistance program.  Associates are also eligible for bonuses.
