Employers routinely ignore workers’ rights guaranteed under state and federal wage and hour laws because employers know that government agencies are either unwilling or inadequately staffed and funded to enforce the law. We successfully prosecute employers for overtime violations, misclassification of employees as “independent contractors,” whistleblower suits, discrimination claims, and many other abuses. Some of the class actions and appeals we have undertaken have expanded worker protections by persuading courts to interpret these laws in accordance with their original legislative purposes
